Production Blog: Filming

I started out today at 12:00 Pm on a Sunday morning and brought my friends with me to help record the scene. It was nice and sunny outside and the beached was pretty crowded. The phones started to overheat because of the temperature but I was able to cool it down by putting it in the shad for 5 mins. After we started by taking a walking shot from the far back of the beach and slowly walking with 10 second clips fading in and coming back until we reached the water. It was a little hard to keep the camera steady while walking in the water so it took multiple tries to get it perfect. Then I had to dip my phone in the water for a second and which was really hard because either it was dipped in too fast or i stopped recording before I put it in the water. It took about 15 minutes for me to get the shot right. But I finally got a clean shot that looked pretty nice. After that I started to run into problems; first the go pro wasn't turning on and that was a big problem because we needed underwater shots. So I had to resort to other filming methods. After I checked the scenes that I got but we couldn't record anymore due to the amount of people starting to pile up. SO I have to say that today was a success and I think that me and my friends will go back next weekend to record the dialogue part.
